How do I use a CBN tincture?
At bedtime, 30-60 minutes before you’d like to go to sleep, start with 1/2 dropper. Hold under your tongue and in your cheek for 60 seconds for max absorption, then swallow. Allow ~20 mins for effects, and if you still feel like you’d like more, try another half dropper.
Here are guidelines to use for an average CBN tincture dosage:
- 1/2 of a Dropper (0.5 mL) = 20mg CBN + 10mg CBD – start here
- 1 Dropper (1.0 mL) = 40mg CBN + 20mg CBD
Many people also take some Delta 8 tincture at bedtime too. We have made these 2 separate products so that you have the option to take just CBN and CBD tinctures without getting high, or can mix and match if you prefer a mild psychoactive effect as well.
Use within 12 months of opening. Discontinue use if any discomfort occurs.

CBN TINCTURE FAQ
What is a CBN Oil tincture?
A CBN tincture is a concentrated extract of cannabinol (CBN), which is a compound often extracted from hemp plants that does not get you “high,” but has a mild sedative effective that is very attractive for people needing help with their sleep quality. While a “tincture” is typically alcohol-based, at TribeTokes we use MCT oil, because fats carry cannabis oils into your system more efficiently, increasing the bioavailability and effectiveness of the product.
Customers often use CBN tinctures by placing a few drops under their tongue for sublingual absorption. This method allows for faster absorption into the bloodstream than swallowing it, and bypasses the effects of your digestive juices. While tinctures can also be added to drinks and smoothies, most people don’t make smoothies at night, so this is not as common with CBN tinctures 🙂
Why does CBN oil make you tired?
CBN is often associated with sedative effects and may contribute to feelings of drowsiness. While the exact mechanisms are still being studied, some research suggests that CBN influences receptors that play a role in sleep regulation.
Many indica strains that are famous for sleep, like Animal Cookies or Blackberry Kush, are high in CBN, with ~2% CBN potency.
How long does a CBN sleep tincture stay in your system?
The duration of effects of a CBN sleep tincture can vary based on factors such as metabolism, frequency of use, and the amount consumed. Typically, if you take a CBD and CBN tincture for 8-10 hours before you need to wake up in the morning, you should not feel the effects by the time you need to wake up, so you shouldn’t be groggy in the morning. Everyone is different, so the only way to know is to try for yourself.
Generally, cannabinoids are detectable in urine for several days to a few weeks, while they may linger in the bloodstream for a few hours to a few days.
