Science Corner: What the Research Actually Says About CBD

Why TribeTokes for CBD

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is the cannabinoid hemp produces the most of, and it does not get you high at any dose. It works quietly rather than dramatically. Customers most often describe steadier days and an easier time winding down, without the head change THC brings. At TribeTokes it shows up two ways: on its own in the products on this page, and blended into our THC, Delta 8 THC and CBN formulas to round them out. Everything here is hemp-derived and third-party lab tested, and the Certificate of Analysis is public.

Does CBD get you high?

No. CBD is non-intoxicating, and that holds at every dose we sell. It does not bind the CB1 receptor the way THC does, which is the reason there is no high attached to it. You can take it in the morning and go to work. What customers report is subtler: less edge, easier evenings, and with the pain cream, relief in one spot and nothing systemic. If a product on our site does get you high, it contains THC and the label says so plainly.

CBD vs THC: what is the difference?

THC is intoxicating. CBD is not. That is the short version and it is the one that matters when you are choosing. Both come from the same plant and both interact with the endocannabinoid system, but they behave differently at the CB1 receptor, which is why one produces a high and the other does not. In practice: CBD is what you take when you want to feel steadier and still function normally. THC is what you take when you want the experience. That is also why most of our THC formulas are CBD-boosted rather than THC alone.

Which CBD product should I start with?

It depends on the format you like. If you want simple and repeatable, start with a gummy, and the CBD Wellness Gummies are THC-free and the plainest place to begin. If you are here for sleep specifically, the CBD + CBN Sleep Gummies are built for it. If you want it fast and want to control the amount, start with a cart or a disposable in whichever of the 12 strains sounds right. If you like precision, the 1,800mg tincture moves drop by drop. And if you have one sore shoulder rather than a general mood, the pain cream is the answer.

How much CBD should I take?

One gummy is the standard serving, and consistency matters more than size here. There is no high to titrate against, so the useful approach is to take it daily for a couple of weeks and see whether your baseline shifts, rather than waiting to feel an event. The tincture lets you move in smaller increments: start with half a dropper, hold it under your tongue, and adjust from there. Vapes are felt within minutes, so you can feel your way up a pull at a time. Nothing here can be overshot into intoxication, but more is not automatically better.

Is your CBD full spectrum or broad spectrum?

Both, depending on the product, and the label tells you which. Broad spectrum and isolate-based products like the CBD Wellness Gummies are THC-free, which is the right pick if you want zero THC for any reason. Full spectrum products keep the trace cannabinoids the plant came with, including THC below the 0.3% legal threshold, which some customers prefer. Our live resin products are full spectrum by definition, since live resin is about preserving what the plant actually produced. Check the Certificate of Analysis on any product and you will see exactly what is in that batch.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Yes. Assume any cannabinoid product can cause a positive result, full-spectrum CBD included. Standard tests do not screen for CBD itself, they screen for THC metabolites, and full spectrum products carry trace THC that your body can metabolize into exactly what the test is looking for. THC-free broad spectrum products carry lower risk, but no manufacturer can promise you a negative result and we are not going to be the ones who do. If you are subject to drug testing, the honest advice is abstinence from all cannabinoid products, ours included.

Are your CBD products vegan and lab tested?

Yes to both. Every gummy is pectin-based, so there is no gelatin, and they are vegan and gluten-free with no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial dyes. Every batch is third-party lab tested for potency and contaminants, and the Certificate of Analysis is published on our site rather than available on request. With CBD especially, the lab report is the only real proof of what you are buying, because a potency claim on a label costs nothing to print.

How long does CBD last?

It depends on the format. Gummies build slowly, usually 45 to 90 minutes to arrive, then run for several hours. The tincture lands sooner, roughly 15 to 45 minutes, and sits in the middle for duration. Vapes are felt within minutes and fade fastest, which is what makes them suit an as-needed moment rather than a daily routine. The pain cream is the outlier: 10 to 20 minutes, local to where you put it, and it does not travel. Body weight, metabolism and whether you have eaten all move these numbers around.

Can I subscribe and save on CBD products?

Yes, and every product on this page is eligible. Subscribe and Save takes 20% off your first order, and from your account you can pause, skip a shipment, change your delivery date or change your frequency. Pause is indefinite rather than timed, so you come back when you want to. You can add or remove products from an existing subscription too. Free shipping starts at $125.
