THCa, THC, and What the Coil Does

THCa is the acid form of THC that a living cannabis plant actually produces. It carries an extra carboxyl group, and that group is what keeps it from acting the way Delta-9 THC acts. Heat knocks the group off. Chemists call the reaction decarboxylation, and it has been studied closely enough to fill published work on acidic cannabinoid decarboxylation. Voltage, Priming, and Storage

Most THCa oil runs best at the low end of a variable battery. Too much power scorches the extract, flattens the terpene notes you chose it for, and leaves a burnt edge no strain can hide. Start at the lowest setting, take a short primer pull with the battery off, then step up one notch at a time until the vapor tastes right rather than hot.

Storage is the other half, and MN weather makes it a real one.
