Tinctures have more control, longer effect, and faster onset than edibles.

CBD calms and grounds. The CBG boost adds mood and focus support on top, making this one work as well mid-afternoon as it does before bed. No psychoactive effect, no buzz. Just a clear, even feeling that one reviewer summed up simply: “I go to bed relaxed and I wake up happy.”

The MCT oil base absorbs sublingually and hits faster than an edible – hold it under your tongue for up to a minute, then swallow. The lemon mint flavor is light and refreshing.

How To Use Your CBD Tincture

Sublingual technique. Shake the bottle, fill the dropper to your dose, place the oil under your tongue, hold it there for 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing. The blood vessels under your tongue absorb CBD directly into the bloodstream, which is why a tincture takes effect 30 to 60 minutes faster than a swallowed gummy. The longer you hold the oil under your tongue, the more of it reaches the bloodstream rather than passing through the gut.

Starting dose. New to CBD? Start with 10 to 15 mg, which is roughly a third to a half of a full dropper. Wait at least 45 minutes before deciding whether to take more, since sublingual onset is gradual (15 to 45 minutes for first effects). CBD effects are subtler than psychoactive cannabinoids; the shift is more “edge off” than “feeling it.” If you don’t feel anything at 15 mg, that doesn’t mean it’s not working. It might mean you need a higher dose.

Dose escalation. If 10 to 15 mg felt like nothing after a few days of consistent use, step up to 25 to 30 mg (a full dropper). Many regular users land here. If you still want more, 50 to 75 mg is the next tier. Some people land at 50 mg for the same benefit others get at 15 mg. Normal range. We don’t recommend exceeding 100 mg in a single dose for typical wellness use. The whole point of a tincture versus a fixed-dose gummy is granular control. Use it.

When to use it. Most customers use CBD as a daily wellness routine: a morning dose to start the day, an evening dose for wind-down, or both. The lemon mint flavor makes it palatable straight from the dropper, but you can also drop it into coffee, tea, a smoothie, or a recipe with fat. Consistent daily use produces better outcomes than occasional use, since CBD’s effects compound over weeks of regular intake. Track what works for you in the first two weeks, then dose with confidence.

How do I use a CBD tincture?

How to take a CBD tincture – it’s easy! Start with 1/2 dropper and increase as needed. Hold under your tongue and in your cheek for 60 seconds for max absorption, then swallow. Allow 15 mins for effects. Here are guidelines to use for an average CBD tincture dosage:

  • 1/2 of a Dropper (0.5 mL) = 20mg CBD + 10mg CBG
  • 1 Dropper (1.0 mL) = 40mg CBD + 20mg CBG

While sublingual absorption is fastest, you can also add CBD tincture to food or drinks – they are particularly delicious in a fruit smoothie!

Use within 12 months of opening. Discontinue use if any discomfort occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s in the CBD tincture?

The CBD tincture is a 30 mL bottle containing 1800mg of full-spectrum hemp-derived CBD in an organic MCT oil base with a lemon mint flavor. Keto-friendly. The calibrated dropper delivers 60 servings per bottle, 30mg of CBD per full dropper, so you can dose by the half-dropper or quarter-dropper depending on what works for you. Full-spectrum means you also get the minor cannabinoids (CBG, CBC, CBN trace amounts) and terpenes that work alongside CBD, plus trace Delta 9 THC under the 0.3% federal limit. No psychoactive high. Third-party lab tested every batch for cannabinoid potency, heavy metals, residual solvents, pesticides, and microbials. Federally compliant under the 2018 Farm Bill.

How do I take a sublingual tincture?

Shake the bottle. Fill the dropper to the dose you want. Place the oil under your tongue and hold it there for 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing. The blood vessels under your tongue feed CBD straight into the bloodstream. Anything you swallow has to pass through the gut and liver first, which adds time and reduces how much actually reaches you. Onset is 15 to 45 minutes depending on body weight, food in your stomach, and your individual chemistry. The longer the oil sits sublingually, the more of it absorbs directly. Don’t eat or drink for a few minutes after, so the oil has time to absorb.

Can I just swallow it instead?

Yes, but you’ll trade speed and efficiency for convenience. Swallowed tincture takes 45 to 90 minutes to take effect (similar to a gummy) and delivers less CBD per dose because the liver metabolizes part of it before it reaches the bloodstream. Sublingual is the preferred method for most users because it’s faster and more efficient. If you don’t love the under-tongue technique, mix the dropper into a small amount of food or a warm (not hot) drink. Mixing with fat helps absorption since CBD is fat-soluble. That’s part of why we use MCT oil as the carrier instead of water-based alternatives.

Dose math: how much CBD should I take?

CBD doesn’t have a single ‘right’ dose. Effective amounts vary widely between people based on body weight, prior cannabinoid use, and how your endocannabinoid system responds. Most people start at 10 to 15 mg (a third to a half of a full dropper) and adjust from there. Daily wellness users often land at 25 to 30 mg (one full dropper). Some users need 50 to 75 mg for the same effects others get at 15 mg, which is normal. Wait at least 45 minutes after a dose before deciding to take more, since sublingual onset is gradual. We don’t recommend exceeding 100 mg in a single dose for typical wellness use. The whole point of a tincture versus a fixed-dose gummy is that you can fine-tune in 5 to 10 mg steps. Start low. Find your spot.

Will the tincture affect my drug test?

Yes. The CBD tincture is full-spectrum, which means it contains trace Delta 9 THC under the 0.3% federal limit. That trace amount metabolizes into the same THC metabolites that drug tests are looking for. At the doses needed for full-spectrum CBD effects, the accumulated metabolites can trigger a positive on a sensitive screen. If you have a drug test coming up, abstain from full-spectrum CBD and any other cannabinoid product entirely. Workplace, sports, custody, or any other drug screening will not distinguish between THC from cannabis and the trace Delta 9 in full-spectrum hemp. The detection window can extend from a few days to several weeks after the last dose, depending on body fat, hydration, and frequency of use. Hair tests can detect THC metabolites for 90 days or longer.

Don’t combine with: medications and safety considerations

CBD metabolizes through the CYP450 liver enzyme system, which is the same pathway many prescription medications use, so it can raise or lower the active level of other drugs you take. If you take blood thinners (warfarin), anticonvulsants (clobazam, valproate), SSRIs, or any medication with a narrow therapeutic window, talk to your healthcare provider before adding CBD to your routine. The interaction is dose-dependent: small doses are less likely to affect other medications than larger ones, but a conversation with your provider is the right call either way. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should not use this product. Anyone with a cardiovascular condition or liver issue should consult their physician before use. Don’t combine with alcohol or central nervous system depressants without your provider’s input. Start with a small dose to gauge your individual response.

Store the tincture how?

Store the bottle upright at room temperature (60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit), out of direct sunlight, in a cool dark place like a cabinet or drawer. Heat and light degrade cannabinoids and terpenes fast. Don’t leave the bottle in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill. Don’t refrigerate (the MCT oil thickens at cold temperatures and the dropper becomes hard to use). Shake the bottle before every dose to redistribute the cannabinoids in the oil base, since they can settle during storage. Properly stored, the tincture stays fresh for 12 to 18 months from the bottling date printed on the label.

Full-spectrum vs broad-spectrum vs isolate: what’s in this?

This tincture is full-spectrum, which means it contains the complete cannabinoid and terpene profile of the hemp plant: CBD as the primary cannabinoid, plus minor cannabinoids (CBG, CBC, trace CBN), terpenes that contribute to the overall effect, and trace Delta 9 THC under the 0.3% federal limit. Many users feel full-spectrum produces a more complete effect than CBD alone because the cannabinoids and terpenes work together. Broad-spectrum products remove the trace THC but keep most other compounds; isolate is pure CBD only with everything else stripped out. Full-spectrum has the strongest reported effects for most people, with the tradeoff that it can produce a positive drug test (see the drug test question above). We carry full-spectrum because that’s what works best for most of our customers.

Subscribe-and-save: how does it work on the tincture?

Subscribe-and-save takes 20% off every shipment of the tincture. Pick the cadence that matches how often you finish a bottle (every 4, 6, or 8 weeks). The subscription is flexible: pause indefinitely (no auto-resume), skip the next delivery, change cadence mid-subscription, or cancel from your account at any time. Subscribers earn loyalty rewards points on every shipment. If your usage pattern changes (heavier dose, lighter dose, taking a break for any reason), pause the subscription and resume when you’re ready to restock.

Returns on the tincture: what’s the policy?

Returns are accepted on unopened, sealed tincture bottles within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Once the seal is broken or the bottle is used, it can’t be returned (product handling rules for ingestibles). If you receive a tincture that arrived damaged in transit, leaking, or with a broken seal, email team@tribetokes.com with photos and your order number; we’ll send a replacement or refund at no cost to you. Return shipping is not covered unless there was an error on our end. If the tincture isn’t the right fit for you (taste, format, dose response), customer service can sometimes offer a discount on a different format like gummies or a different cannabinoid like CBN. Reach out and ask.
