What Is Inside an Ice Cream Cake Eighth
Whole THCa flower and nothing else. The vanilla you smell is the plant’s own terpene profile, which is the whole reason Ice Cream Cake flower earned its name. Want to line it up against Gushers and Jealousy? See all our indica THCa flower.
🌿
THCa, 26.8% on the current batch
Third-party tested. Our indoor line targets 22 to 28%, and this batch landed near the top.
🍋
Limonene
Known for leading this strain, which surprises people on something this heavy. It is the faint citrus at the edge of the vanilla.
🍃
Myrcene
Usually second, and the terpene people most often connect with heavier, settled strains.
🌸
Linalool
The floral, lavender-adjacent note that softens the sweetness on the exhale.
🧪
Delta 9 THC, 0.3% or less
Hemp-derived, well inside the federal dry-weight ceiling, and confirmed by an outside lab.
🚫
Nothing Added
Nothing sprayed, nothing infused, nothing painted on after cure. Every flavor here came off the plant.
Science Corner: Ice Cream Cake THCa Flower
Why do we print a range instead of one big number? Because the figure on a cannabis label depends on who ran the test almost as much as on what is in the jar. Jikomes and Zoorob (2018) went through Washington State’s legal-market lab records and found that THC results varied systematically by testing facility, with some labs reporting higher numbers than others again and again (PMID 29540728). So an Ice Cream Cake eighth listed at 30% somewhere else isn’t automatically stronger than ours. One study from one state isn’t the final word on lab testing. It is a good reason to read potency as a range, and to care more about how a strain actually smokes.
How It Works and How Much To Start With
Smoked flower is the fastest way cannabis arrives. You feel the first of it within minutes, and the main stretch runs roughly two to three hours. That speed works in your favor, because you know where you stand before you decide on more.
Ice Cream Cake is a slow builder. People describe a heavy, calm body feel that keeps deepening after you put the bowl down, so the real weight shows up later than you expect. The classic mistake is a second hit at minute one, before the first has finished arriving. Wait ten minutes.
Harvest, tolerance, food and how deep you pull all move the result. Two harvests of the same strain never smoke identically, so a range is more honest than a single number.
| Intensity | Amount | Who it suits |
| Light | A few small pulls | New to flower, or new to heavy indicas |
| Moderate | A partial bowl | Regular smokers, a night with nothing left on the list |
| Strong | A full bowl | Experienced, high tolerance, no tight deadlines |
| This product | Eighth (3.5g), 26.8% THCa on the current batch report | Third-party lab tested, results on our lab page |
Start low and wait. General guidance only, not medical advice.
Start with two small pulls and give it ten minutes. A subscription takes a discount off the first eighth.
Ice Cream Cake THCa Flower FAQ
Ice Cream Cake, also sold as ICC, is a heavy indica night strain with a vanilla cake nose and a creamy finish, sold here as indoor Ice Cream Cake flower by the eighth.
It’s indoor hemp flower from Ice Cream Cake, sold as whole, hand-trimmed buds in a 3.5 gram eighth. Ice Cream Cake is Wedding Cake crossed with Gelato #33, two dessert strains bred together for a heavier, creamier result than either parent. THCa is the acid form of THC that the living plant makes. Every batch we sell tests at 0.3% or under for Delta 9 THC by dry weight. What ships is intact buds, not ground material or shake with a famous name on the bag. If you’ve read our Ice Cream Cake strain profile, this is the jar it was written about.
Vanilla first, and you’ll smell it the second the lid comes off. It’s rich vanilla cake with a cream cheese icing finish, a hint of nuts and a small edge of citrus underneath. The citrus is what keeps it from reading cloying. Smoke it slowly and you get all three layers; rush it and the sweetness turns harsh. If your usual picks are gas strains, Ice Cream Cake will taste soft, and that’s the point. If you’ve been hunting for a real dessert strain, this is the one the category is named after: vanilla, cream and cake, with no fuel layered on top. It’s also loud, so anyone in the room will know what you opened.
Indica, and a heavy one. Both parents are dessert hybrids, but Ice Cream Cake lands firmly on the indica side, and people report it as calm, heavy and slow, with very little head buzz. That’s why we shelve it as a night flower. It’s the jar for the end of the day, after dinner, when there’s nothing left on the list. It’s the wrong pick before anything that needs focus, and we’d rather say that up front than take the sale. If you want the dessert flavor with less weight, look at Lemon Cherry Gelato, which keeps the sweetness and goes easier on the body.
The current batch tested at 26.8% THCa, near the top of the 22 to 28% our indoor line usually runs, and the full report is on our lab page. That’s strong, but on this strain timing matters more than the number. Ice Cream Cake keeps building after you stop, so the full weight lands well after the last pull. That’s why the usual advice to start low counts double here. Take one or two small pulls, give it ten minutes, then decide. Most uncomfortable Ice Cream Cake sessions come from going back in before the first hit has finished landing, not from the figure on the jar. If you’re new to flower, a high-testing indica is the place to be patient.
An eighth is priced in the buy box above, and bundles bring the per-jar cost down: two eighths cost less than two singles, and three cost less again, up to 10.5 grams in one order. If you’d rather mix than stock up, You Pick 2 and You Pick 3 let you pair Ice Cream Cake with any other strain on the flower line at the same bundle rate. A subscription takes a discount on your first and second orders, which makes sense once you know you’ll reorder and less sense while you’re still deciding. Every route pulls from the same tested supply. The only choice is how much and how varied, because there are no quality tiers on our flower. Every jar is indoor, hand-trimmed whole bud.
Yes. ICC is the short form, and on a lot of menus you’ll see it abbreviated that way. Same strain, same vanilla-and-cream profile. Where it gets confusing is the long list of dessert names that sound related: Wedding Cake, Birthday Cake, Ice Cream Cake Pie and plenty of others are separate crosses, not alternate spellings of this one. Wedding Cake, for example, is one of Ice Cream Cake’s parents, which makes it the ancestor, not a twin. When you compare our jar with a menu somewhere else, match the lineage rather than the name, because the name is the least reliable part of any cannabis listing.
In the jar it came in, lid on, somewhere cool and dark. Every time you open it a little of the aroma leaves, so open it when you’re actually going to smoke and close it right after. Heat and light pull terpenes out faster than time does, which rules out the car, the windowsill and the top of the fridge. Skip the refrigerator too, since the humidity swings do more harm than room temperature ever will. Stored well, an eighth holds its character for months. On Ice Cream Cake, the vanilla is your gauge. It’s the most delicate part of the nose, so when the jar smells like plain earth and nothing sweet, it has been sitting somewhere too warm or opened too often.
Yes. Smoking THCa flower puts THC metabolites in your system, and those metabolites are exactly what a standard urine, blood or hair test looks for. It doesn’t matter that the flower is hemp-derived or that you bought it online, because a drug test can’t tell the difference. If a job, a license, a sport or a court requirement depends on a clean result, the only reliable plan is to not use THC products at all. Ignore anyone selling a detox drink or a timing trick. How long it stays detectable depends on how often you use, how much, and your own body, so there’s no honest number of safe days. If you smoke regularly, plan in weeks, not days. NORML tracks testing policy by state.
Federally, yes. Federal hemp law draws the line at 0.3% Delta 9 THC by dry weight, and everything under it is classed as hemp. We test every batch against that line and post the results on our lab page. State law is what actually decides your order. Rules differ from state to state, a few restrict THCa flower specifically, and they change often enough that any list printed here would be out of date within months. Check your own state before you order, because state and local rules decide what can legally arrive at your door, whatever the federal position is. We ship to most states. Look yours up first, then shop with the answer already in hand.
It’s the heaviest dessert jar on the indica shelf, the one for people who want vanilla and a slow night. Gushers is the fruit-candy indica, sweet and tropical where Ice Cream Cake is vanilla and cream. Jealousy brings a deeper, gassier body effect, if you want indica weight without the dessert. Lemon Cherry Gelato shares the gelato side of the family tree, sweeter and lighter on the body. Every jar on the line is built the same way: indoor, hand-trimmed whole bud, tested per batch, so you’re really choosing flavor and pace. Rolled versions live on the preroll shelf, and the lineage and terpene story is on the Ice Cream Cake strain profile.
Sold by the eighth, cheaper by the bundle, and third-party lab tested like everything we grow.
